Safety tips
Most deals on Kareem Souq go smoothly. These habits keep it that way. They are advice, not a guarantee: the deal is between you and the other person.
Never pay before you have seen the item
- Do not send a deposit, a "reservation fee", a "shipping fee" or a "customs fee" to someone you have not met, however good the story or the price.
- A price far below the market, a seller who is "abroad", or pressure to decide today are the classic signs of a scam.
- For a car, property or other large purchase, check the papers (licence, ownership, registration) and the item itself before any money moves.
Meet safely
- Meet in a public, well-lit place, in daytime, and tell a friend or family member where you are going.
- For a large item or a viewing at someone's home or office, go with someone.
- Bring the item to a public place if you are selling something small, and do not invite strangers to your home.
- Trust your instinct: if something feels wrong, walk away.
Handle money carefully
- Prefer to pay and be paid when you hold the item and have checked it.
- A screenshot of a bank or wallet transfer proves nothing. Confirm the money is in your own account before you hand anything over.
- Count cash and check notes in front of the other person.
Protect your account
- Never share the verification code we send you with anyone, including someone who says they are from Kareem Souq.
- Do not click links or install apps sent by a buyer or seller. Keep the conversation in the app where you can.
- Do not put passwords, ID numbers or card numbers in an ad or a message.
Check the ad and the person
- Look at the seller's profile, how long they have been a member and whether they are verified.
- Ask for a live photo or a short video of the exact item, and ask questions only the real owner could answer.
- Be careful with ads that copy photos, or whose details do not add up.
Report it
If an ad or a member looks suspicious, use the report option on the ad or the profile. For anything else use Report a problem. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Read the Terms of Service for what is not allowed on Kareem Souq.
